We were so glad that so many of you were able to make it to our Kindergarten Museum on Wednesday. The students were so proud to show off their projects and the hard work that went into them. I hope you enjoyed looking through all the projects when they came home after the museum and hope you enjoyed looking through all the pictures in my blog post.
We started our circus unit yesterday. This unit is short but so much fun and is very exciting for the students. We painted some circus animals that we will put in our circus train next week. We will be making circus tents and elephants next week too. I’ll be sure to post some pictures when they are done.
The students are excited about our next field trip to the Big Apple Circus. We will be going on Wednesday, April 13th. Information about the trip went home today in your child’s blue folder. Please send in the $13 as soon as possible to cover the cost of the ticket and transportation. I can only take two chaperones on this trip. If you are interested, please let me know by Tuesday of next week so I can draw names and confirm chaperones.
The students have been busy working with sight words and writing in their journals. They also just finished writing their first narrative pieces. The students picked an event from their lives to write about and included a beginning, middle, and end. They shared these with the class before going home today. Mrs. Marsh and I are very impressed with the amount of detail the students added. We are excited for them to continue writing more narrative pieces over the next couple of months!
I have enjoyed conferencing with many of you this week and look forward to conferencing with the rest of you next week. Your children are a pleasure to work with each day and they have all been making such wonderful progress!
Have a great weekend!
Melanie Duncan
